Man is this a good song. This was a good album. Not great, but solid, still listen to it 20+ years later.

ON THE ALBUM, CAROL VAN DIJK'S ODDBALL INFLECTIONS GO FROM LAID BACK TO IMPATIENT. HER DUBIOUS, OVER ENUNCIATED AMERICAN ACCENT COMES OUT IN COMICAL, WARBLED MOUTHFULS, DELIVERED WITH AN EDGY BUT NONCHALANT RICKIE LEE JONES COOL. BEHIND HER, GUITARIST PETER VISSER CRANKS OUT WEEPY, RAW NEIL YOUNG-STYLE SOLOS. THE SOUR CHERRY ON THE ICING IS THAT IT ALL SOUNDS LIKE IT IS BEING PUMPED THROUGH A PARTIALLY BLOWN AMP. THE BAND'S DISC IS AS UNTAMED AND FREE AS POP GETS YET AS IRRESISTIBLE AS A BAY CITY SATURDAY NIGHT.

I'd completely forgotten about this song. Still great.

everything about this song is amazing. the chord progression, the way Carol bends the melody "reveals their drive..wee can change it." This is on the soundtrack to Hal Hartley's Amateur. There are very few songs from the grunge-era 90s which are as memorable to me as this one. It was so much better than grunge.

Als ik dit nummer hoor, denk ik altijd aan mijn eerste pinkpop (1993), those good old times :-)

Canadian born, to dutch parents, Carol Van Dijk/Dyk leads the dutch indie rock band Bettie Serveert...i think she's a fantastic singer/songwriter/performer/guitar player/person... :-} i love this video/song....

Haven't heard this in a long time, really brings back good memories. Amazing song, best on the album. Still have my Palomine cassette from 1993, will have to dust it off and give it a listen! Great live band too, saw them a couple times back in those days.

This song is unforgettable and catapults me straight back into the melancholy of my teens in the nineties. Parents divorced, messing up at school, not feeling right, it was for a big part music like this that pulled me through. Untill today, I haven't got the slightest idea what this song is about, but its deeply moving nonetheless ;-)
