God do I wish Beck would release more of this stuff. His 3 fonograf singles are like my favorite thing he's made. They somehow manage to have these spacy soundscapes that are almost unmusical, full of echoey and chopped up lyrics while at the same time being tied down with the wholesome, almost primordial beat lying just underneath.

What I love about beck is that he knows all emotion. No matter what point I reach in my life there is an album or song that represents how I feel. Feeling sad? Sea change. Feeling pumped? Midnite vultures. Dark? Modern guilt. I love every second of his music and it never gets old. Beck is timeless

Reminds me of David Byrne and Brian Eno's "My Life In The Bush Of The Ghosts". Reminds me of the Talking Head's "Remain In Light", but mostly of Brian Eno. Love it and I hope the new album sounds a lot like this!
