Sorry again for the poor quality. One of Bill Nelson's beautiful songs with BBD. Very haunting. Bill's using a Fender Strat on this one for you gear heads.

Another gem from Be Bop Deluxe. His songs live even on the "Islands of the Dead."

I remember "Ships in the Night" in the pop charts. I was only 12 years old. I thought, perhaps, that this music is immortal. I stopped playing/watching football, and saved up for a bass guitar!

You have been into Be-Bop for a long time. I was a late starter, 1976, like so many others, it was hearing Ships In The Night that got me into Be-Bop

Love this track " Islands Of The Dead" Heard it first on BBC's Sight & Sound. Following week saw BBD perform it at the London Odeon Hammersmith. Bill & the band were awesome. Think the band broke up because the Bassist, Charlie could not renew his Aussie / New Zealand work permit.

The most under-rated and influential band of the decade. Bill Nelson was pure genius. Love it.

I by mistake was trying to learn a song on guitar and clicked on this songs tab on ultimate guitars. Com And I was like oh what the heck looks easy so with out even listening to it I began to play it And then It sounded amazing! So I looked this up and now it's my favorite song Just happened 30 seconds ago

@worldcitizenforever agree with you 100%, but I can recall seeing an even better version of this song on tv in the 70's ( it that is possible) , totally unique sound

Drastic Plastic is one of the ten albums I'd pick to have on my iPod on that deserted Island (of the Dead)! BBD, City Boy and UK were 3 of my favorite bands back in the day...
