He is tuned in Standard Tuning. Capo'd at the 2nd fret, but only A through high E. Low E is open. It's all based around the capo'd A chord.

@1961webby No, it's for his brother who died in a motorcycle accident. He BEGAN the song about his wife (his girlfriend at the time), but his brother died before the song was finished. So he kept what he had, and then added verses about his brother.
