Z vrcholu ju zosadila Hangin´Tough skupiny New Kinds On The Block. Autormi piesne boli Bob Geldof a Midge Ure a novú verziu hitu z roku 1984 produkovali Stock, Aiken,Waterman pre ktorý to bol siedmy producentský hit na vrchole rebríčka v roku 1989. Skupina Bananarama bola jedinými umelcami, ktorí spievali aj v pôvodnej verzii tejto piesne. BAND AID II tvorili okrem nich Big Fun, Bros, Cathy Dennis, D Mob, Jason Donovan, Kevin Godley, Glen Goldsmith, Kylie Minogue, The Pasadenas, Chris Rea, Cliff Richard, Jimmy Somerville, Sonia, Lisa Stansfield, Technotronic a Parti Pellow s Wet Wet Wet. Pieseň dostala od BPI platinovú platňu.
