@Fakestar0x Sonata wich is still my favorite band has been making music thats more progressive indeed .. but still, in april i'm gonna see them here in belgium on 'power, progressive and metal festival' so sadly i can't deny it x)

@Fakestar0x actually i like stratovarius a lot, you know, i don't like progressive metal all that much. early sonata was okay. i'm also okay, with a heavy use of keyboards, but it has to be done good. well yeah, you're right, there are 2 types of power metal, but the thing is, that strato, sonata and hammerfall are all in the same category, which is called european power metal. the other one would be US power metal with bands like mystic prophecy and iced earth.

@NiggeliNG I am not sure how you feel about stratovarius but honestly speaking, I do like sonata arctica because it is similar to stratovarius but with progressive metal elements that derrived from royal hunt. so maybe you are not into heavily synced power metals with sparkly keyboards. I am ok with it though. and thereis 2 kinds of power metals i believe, 1 that is like sonata arctica and stratovarius and others that takes more traditional stance like hammerfall, nocturnal rites.

@Fakestar0x i never said power metal is pop... take a look at my channel; i LOVE power metal more than anything! i just said, that some of sonata's lyrics are predestined for typical pop songs. and btw, i despise nu metal, screamo and metalcore, those genres aren't even metal

@NiggeliNG Power metal isn't pop, just because metal is melodic doesn't mean it is pop.. melodic death metal exists as well, so does symphonic metal like nightwish, neo classical metal is out there. just because music genre is more traditional and isn't metalcore, numetal or screamo doesn't mean it is pop
