just checked the tuning against my mandolin its definitely D - when Highland bagpipesare played in bands their often re-tuned so they can play in concert pitch with accordians fiddles ,flutes or in this case Irish pipes

As far as I know, Grat Highland bagpipe is tuned to B flat, while uillean pipes are tuned to D. Which one was modified to play this duet?

Jade Tiger, you're a opened-mind person. You know, the thing that really counts in music is sharing, between people, musicians and different traditions and cultures. For the people who like bagpipes duets, you should listen to Ross Ainslie (Border Pipes) and Jarlath Henderson (uilleann pipes). Their album is called "Partners in crime" and it's also wonderful. Have a good day...

Can I put reeds from other instruments in the place of uilleann pipe reeds and actually get a new interesting sound?
