Cuckoo 1440 (sometimes just "Cuckoo") is a Babyshambles track that dates back to at least 2006. When Andrew Kendall uploaded the content of Doherty's "My Music" folder, along with some of Peter's Laptop Recordings, in April 2006, it contained a folder called SHAMBLES1, where only two of the tracks contained titles. One of the untitled tracks (which was tagged as DM100022) is a very early version of Cuckoo 1440. The track features just an acoustic guitar and Doherty on vocals that are barely audible. A second early version was also made available when Andrew Kendall uploaded the tracks, as the track tagged as "Dootle" (which features Dot Allison) is actually an early version of Cuckoo, along with an early version of Palace of Bone.
Cuckoo 1440 was first properly recorded for the Stookie and Jim Bumfest Demos, and it was one of the only tracks from this session that wasn't later used on Babyshambles' second album, Shotters Nation. The track was, however, recorded in the Doghouse session, and this version was later leaked onto the internet. The Doghouse session version is the only recorded version known to feature Babyshambles, rather than just Doherty acoustically.
