John Denver sings this classic old Christmas carol with Kathy Mattea and Patty Loveless in his nearly forgotten 1991 Christmas special - Montana Christmas Skies. AWAY IN A MANGER was first published in Philadelphia in 1885.

This video and audio track is reworked from the original broadcast because I thought the audio balance on the kids was way too hot and John's voice was getting lost. Through my TV magic, I made what I think is a better presentation to honor the lyric and melody of the song.
