I don't know why the band members consider this album the 'red head step child' of the 3. I actually favor Elements, the instrumentals are phenomenal.

@KillJoy353 Yeah, that was my point. If a God existed, and he sent Atheist to hell even though they made people happy just cause they didn't follow his rules - that's a very inefficient and cruel God. Do good deeds, get rewarded I say (note I'm not religious, this is just hypothetical)

I remember buying this on cassette after reading a review of the album and a couple of interviews. Really blew me away, totally left field stuff for it's time. Just added a whole new dimension to death metal. Always considered this a criminally underrated album, should be mandatory listening IMO.
