Sorry. I'm down with the whole punk ethos but this just sucks.

the reason for it being out of tune so horribly, is because Omar swings his guitar so hard in the very beginning, he knocks it out of tune (You see him get a second guitar right before the second verse)THEN he trips over that chair Cedric threw onstage, and knocks it out of tune again.

This is awful. I love the passion, love the song, and this band, but the performance is terrible. If I were there, it might be a different story because of the energy, but they sound horrible. Utterly horrible

It's weird! I left a comment about three years ago about how fucking incredible this was and I got totally slated! Reading recent comments, I don't feel so alone anymore!

This is one of the best performances Jool's ever had. Out of tune? Yeah. Rough as hell? Yeah. This thing is just fucking passionate on a different level.

As much as he was probably fucked up on drugs here, Omar stated he wasn't comfortable with the instrument until around The Mars Volta's Amputechture

All I can see is your comments, shut up, you have no idea what you are talking about, as Stephen said saying "Fuck guitar" as you put it is the opposite of being a guitar player, the reason this guy was doing that was (Don't get me wrong I love ATDI) most likely because he was fucked on drugs and or alcohol, people don't just fight with there instruments to put forward a message such as "Fuck guitar" please think about what your gonna say before writing it as your point is utterly stupid.

What I really mean is a musician that knows when the requirements of the song go beyond those of their own instrument. Anyway, some of the best guitarists are those who play like they're engaged in a bitter and angry feud with their guitar. Unless by 'fuck guitar' you mean 'giving up', then I think a fuck-you attitude can be a great one for a guitarist.
