This is the "original" version of "At Last". The song was written for the Glenn Miller Orchestra, and was first played in the movie "Orchestra Wives", 1942. Vocals by Ray Eberle and Pat Friday (dubbing for Lynn Bari). Etta James lhad a smash hit with it in the 60's and Beyonce sang it in the movie Cadillac Records and Obama's innaugaration

Thankfully, someone posted the original version of this song. Unfortunately to younger singers, it sounds goofy and dated, but the true melody of this song is here. I wish singers today would learn this song correctly rather that mimic the overplayed Etta James version of the 1960s. It's almost as if no one really knows this song anymore despite it being played at nearly every wedding. Harry Warren wrote so many great songs. Thanks for posting!

Man..."entertainers" of today wouldn't begin to know how to behave with sophisticated music like this! Real instruments would be (are) foreign to most of them!

"At Last" was originally intended to be featured in "Sun Valley Serenade" (1941)- and a soundtrack recording was produced- but the number was shelved. The song finally appeared in "Orchestra Wives". Johnny Best plays George Montgomery's "solo" on the soundtrack....
