He helped program the 808s and even wrote an alternate keyboard part for Planet Rock, which eventually became the melody for Play at Your Own Risk by Planet Patrol. There's a whole section in the book Last Night a DJ Saved My Life (Bill Brewster and Frank Broughton) if you wanna read more about it.
