I'm just over 19 so I don't come from the past but this song and the whole album sound like a masterpiece to me. I'd heard about Argent from my mother who was a teenager and a fan in the early 70s. Now I understand why she was so keen on this group

I discovered "Dance in the Smoke" by this kind of compilation called in France "Pop Session n°2", double-album in the early 70s. Then I discovered Spirit by this same track "Give a Life, Take a Life" and love it at start. Now I own the complete Spirit CBS albums.

Anyone who hasn't listened to Fill Your Head With Rock is missing out on a real treat - it was a CBS "sampler" tracks from Columbia artists. Highlights include Spirit - Give a Life, Take a Life, Johnny Winter - I Love Everybody, Taj Mahal - Six Days Upon The Road, Pacific Gas & Electric, Flock, Blood Sweat & Tears, Skin Alley, Byrds ... all great bands, all great tracks. Nothing at all except the 2 songs were both first heard on the same album my original comment was over a year ago You will see other people also refer to "Fill your head with rock" also
