Joking aside, education does not have any place with ones own personal view on a song. I strongly believe in the power of the listener to pick up on cues and symbols or nothing at all to appreciate a song. I don't even care what the actual song is "supposed to be about", just the individuals interpretation, even if it is body movement or just merely nothing. If one person hears oppression, struggles, pseudo safety, and dichotomoumism, and another hears a relationship, so be it.

It's about how beautiful and innocent life was in the suburbs. But they grew up and started to recognize that life isn't simple. By the way, as you can see, they had this militarization shit in the suburbs, and when they got caught the shorter guy said his name and then the tall one went to the army because of that. That's why he goes to beat up his friend at the end, cause his friend actually ruined his naive life.

I've always loved this song, but this was my first time seeing the video. It's so beautiful, and brought a whole new meaning to the song for me. Fantastic musicians, they really are

I watched like 8 times to realize that the guy who is beating him up is the ex(?)boyfriend of the blonde girl with a new haircut.
