APRIL WINE i like to rock

13 i like to rock

One of the most successful rock bands ever to come out of Canada, April Wine were formed in 1969 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, home of founder member Myles Goldwyn.

Commercial and critical acclaim has resulted in the release of around 20 albums, including 7 Gold Discs, 5 Platinum Discs and 2 Double Platinum Discs, along with literally thousands

of sell out concerts the world over. Over a decade of hard work paid off handsomely in 1981 with the release of their legendary ninth album, the much-lauded International Platinum seller 'Nature of the Beast'.

The success of 'Nature of the Beast' heralded their biggest and most ambitious tour to date of Canada, USA and Europe cementing their reputation as global superstars of rock.

This film contains movie footage from the 'Nature of the Beast' tour shot during a two night stint at London, England's famous Hammersmith Odeon during January 1981.

I saw Nazareth opened by April Wine at the Aragon Ballroom in 1978.The drummer for Nazareth was so fried that Jerry Mercer had to do a double shift with the headliner. He rocked it for three hours.Fantastic show. Even if the men's room was 4 inches deep in piss.

I saw April Wine at the Oakland Coliseum higher than a mo-fo on LSD, and the main thing I remember is the drummer as he went faster and faster on the drum solo. You watch this video and the skill and talent of these guys is pretty impressive. Most of the hacks these days can't compare. Watch Justin Beiber try this shit. I don't think so. Long live April Wine.
