Most of the true Grunge fans in the 90's including myself and everyone I knew, were also rocking out to this and a lot of other Metal bands. Just to let you know.

My vote for the single most underrated Anthrax song of all time. I absolutely love this song. Sure "Potters Field," "Only," "Room For One More," "Hy Pro Glo" and "Black Lodge" slaughter too...but this song is just a special brand of awesome.

@mcdmedia I gotta be honest, this album still retains SOME of their metal roots... 1000 Points of Hate for example... Plus, I feel that Bush actually "sung" and was melodic on this album. It was more like yelling on the other 3 albums with him.

Anthrax actually joined in with the Grunging on this album. POT was a masterpiece thrash album. Sound of White Noise was more grungy and not as thrashy. It was all downhill for Anthrax once they decided to stop playing thrash.

Back in '93, people were too busy grunging while Anthrax was giving metal a thrashing! While the Persistence of Time was Anthrax's most matured sound with Belladonna, the Sound of White Noise was the rebirth of the Anthrax sound. They mellowed a little too much after Dan Spitz left the band though and they became too mediocre as metal passed them by for much less talented groups that receive attention nowadays.
