"Where the Light Is" is my personal testimony. It's a song that speaks of a very dark season in my life when I almost turned my back on everything I'd ever believed about God. I was beat down and confused living in LA. I'd become so materialistic and callused and heartless, and Satan had infiltrated my ability to reason, almost convincing me that my faith was for nothing. ...But my family and friends wouldn't let go of me. We moved back home, and it saved my life. This song progressed over time. The first verse was God speaking to me. My father in law spoke those words, 'Even just a little bit of light breaks through' and six months later, with the first chord I struck, the melody that came out is what you hear on the record. God gave me the last verse the night before a scheduled co-writing session. The chorus really puts the whole concept in your face, 'Darkness doesn't stand a chance.' The Light always wins. And I'm so grateful it did." —ALAN
