Never heard this song before and Loved it! After some checking I believe Anita Carter (March 31, 1933 – July 29, 1999), sang "Freight Train Blues" in the 1950s, in any case I also love her sister June who was equally as talented; On another note this song reminded me of another video tune I loved with Grandpa Jones "Mountain Dew (1961)" during that video before he started singing he told a joke that went something like when he was a boy he and his uncle use to go hunting and when ever they come by Train Tunnel his uncle always would say there are pretty girls in there because every time the steam whistle train went in it would toot Wooo, Wooo and when it came out the other end it came out (panting) /h/h//h/h/h/h/h/ . . . ~ anyway I thought it was the funniest clean joke I had heard in ages! Anita was certainly a beautiful home grown country gal

She's got quite a range in that voice. A shame she passed away so young with her last 10 years in miserable pain. I sure hope God has good reasons why things like that has to happen.

thats a fun song, the more I listen to Anita the more I think she be one if not the best female vocalist from the south ever. And the rest of the family were great too but not at her level. But no one is! just amazing!

The first time I heard this song was about 1946/47 when juke box song cost 5 cents. I don't remember who sang it at that time.
