@paracletelux Very true. A number of non-Brits often have trouble attenuating their hearing to English (and similar) accents. What many Americans, in particular those with flat mid-western accents, don't register is the pitching and blending in many Brit-accents; funnily enough, part of the flattened mid-western (and related) accents in the U.S. apply an inverse effect (in the flattening/blurring of vowels) that mirrors the perceived dropping/blurring of many "Brit-consonants"...

@1401JSC I lift my eyes; the cloud grows thin; I see the blue above it; And day by day this pathway smooths, Since first I learned to love it. The peace of Christ makes fresh my heart, A fountain ever springing; All things are mine since I am his--How can I keep from singing?

I am from America and can understand it fine. If I showed this video to my mother though, she would fail to understand most of it, I am sure. She is horrible at understanding any thing other than thick Midwest American English.

Aww! They are so adorable and sound beautiful. Everytime I hear children sing I start to cry. Precious!

The Libera boys have quite broad English "Saaf (South) London" accents that they retain somewhat whilst singing...it might be difficult to understand if one is not used to hearing it. Even though I'm an American, I watch a lot of British TV and lived in London for a short while, so they're completely clear and understandable to me.

I'm not quite sure what you mean. I find the words quite easy to understand, if that's what you mean by "what are the words, where are the consonants." They don't roll their rs like other English boys, but their consonants are audible nonetheless.

Anyone can have a beautiful voice in a swimming pool acoustic. What are the words? Where are the consonants?

The CD is called Angel Voices - the Saint Philips Boy Choir and is available at amazon. If you search Libera it should come up in the related items.

The choir used to be called Angel Voices from St Phillips Church in Norbury...i grew up with them as my brother was actually in the choir! This was my absolute favourite song of theirs and used to watch them in church mid 90s.

For a more contemporary version, have a look at Holly Kirby (Alpet07). It's simple, but quite lovely.
