Back in the Spring of '73 this got a fair amount of airplay here in L.A. but I loved it so much I got the 45 and probably played it to death. What's awesome here is that even if Andy fucks up some, stumbling over some notes, he gets right back on track as if it didn't even happen. Now THAT is a true improvisational artist at work!

This is the very version that has the SEVERE distortion. If u have read other u-tube comments u'll notice that the original LP version was used to calibrate band sound systems upon setup because some users considered AA" best engineered" song in existence at that time (and why is it dated 1973 when I was playing Avenging Annie on the radio in 1971-72?) Maybe u should ask "Bozo the Clown" (not my impression) And my impression of song's story-line re-validates my initial feeling of genderbending

Bit of mic overload causing severe distortion but what the hell. A lot of us are more than 55

This song is one of the greats of all time. Every things sounds right. (on the original) He could loose the Bozo the clown hair do. But what the hell.

If he shaved his head, he'd look like late actor Peter Boyle, aka the father on Everybody Loves Raymond ;)

Incredible incredible incredible. I would like to add that live AA by the man himself was just sublime. Can I say it was incredible?
