I'm only 5 years younger than Amy. I've listened to her music since I first heard her in 1978! The beauty of her artistry is that yes, she's a Christian and she's always been honest about that, thus her songs about God, love, life, and all the in-between. Her music is so naturally beautiful whatever type of love or relationship she's singing about, because she hasn't so narrowly defined who she is as an artist that people feel like they might say or do the "wrong thing" around her. She doesn't judge or condemn, she just lives out her gifting and her calling beautifully. It's not really anything that needs a definition or explanation! Like this song about not giving up on a friend-do we give up just because we think they aren't going to listen, respond, etc.? Or, especially for those of us who are Christians, are we willing to be a faithful friend and not give up no matter what?!-Another truth sung beautifully, Amy!
