Insider has a couple of my favorite Amplifier songs (O Fortuna and Strange Seas of Thought), but the rest never really clicked for me. It's my least favorite Amplifier album, but still a great.10 years ago

The Octopus uninspired? I thought it was brilliant. Every Amplifier album has a different feel than what came before. Echo Street is closest to the debut album but it's more subtle, more laid back, and brings some new elements like vocial harmonies. For me, like The Octopus before it, it's a grower. Matmos, the title track, Extra Vehicular, and Sunriders from the bonus EP are among the very best things they've ever done in my opinion, and I love this track.10 years ago
