Granted, I know that musicians like to try other approaches & sometimes it works, but then again, if you have a fan base thats familiar with what you have as a presentation & you totally change genres for your next offering you want those same fans to buy, as a band, if the product is WAY FAR AWAY from what U were doing, U end up with angry people dissing you.

An example, for those familiar with SCAR SYMMETRY, you know a good portion of a lot of their songs had that deathcore/ death metal growl thing. Once that got put off to the side for cleaner vocals more & more, they went from being categorized as a technical deathcore to more metalcore band. Certain fans were like WTF? @ this direction.

I may spark A heated convo about growls vs. clean vocals after this, but, I feel if a band incorporates growls as a vocal presence to give more aggressiveness to their songs, to take that out after their fans get used to it leaves a lot of possibly unhappy fans, also, genre wise, it puts the song in a different categorization of metal which sometimes isnt a good thing.

Last thing about K.W., granted their singer has been passed away for a long period of time, but whatever happened to the rest of the band members? Are any of them in any bands doing stuff now? I wonder the same thing about Growler/ Guitarist Sander Gomenz from After Forever. Hes still alive but Now that Floor Jansen is with Nightwish for the moment, her brother Mark who was the original Growler WAY BACK WHEN in A.F. basically does Sanders job. I miss Sanders growls!!

After hearing this version, granted it would have been a REALLY long cover song, but I wonder what the Amorphis version of Kingston Walls Mushrooms would sound like? the original is over 40 something minutes and is reminescent of their And I Hear You Call Song, just kind of a longer jam.

@MagellenofBass I checked out the original version of this after hearing the Amorphis version. Thanks to Amorphis, I discovered a band I never knew about beforehand.

I fucking love this song!!! Amorphis fucking rocks!! They did a GREAT cover of this song. Have you heard the original, from Kingston Wall??? GREAT SONG AND GREAT BAND, I strongly recommend them.
