Honestly, why do people have to compare "good" music like this to new artists like JB (who makes LOVE SONGS and UPLIFTING SONGS-whether they sound good to you or not), Mike Posner (who also makes love songs and some truthful songs), and whatnot. Just because Amerie's is r&b/jazz and theirs is mostly pop doesn't mean theirs isn't "good music." It's truly better to be more open-minded before categorizing.

loooooooool omg finally someone who knows whats really up!!!! the sad thing is I used to rock with bey up until her b'day album and a few songs off sasha fierce like halo and if i were a boy but now she has turned into a complete puppet and will never be able to have songs like that... and I know but Amerie doesnt get the respect she deserves because she isnt a puppet and the same goes for so many other artists like mary j, ashanti, monica and the list goes on
