Without John they are just the Chili Peppers, I still love them and I like Josh but they will never be as good without John - or even without Hillel

Just by reading the comments below i can see people kinda hating on JF here. But what you have to remember he was eighteen and never been in this kind of situation. The whole sticking the tongue out is very hendrix like, paired with the stage moves, and nerves. The JF from 99 onwards wrote some of the best songs i liked from my youth, and became his own voice and identity. He is a great musician, and guitar player. He just needed time to mature here. I listen to everyone from EVH, Holdsworth, Vai, EC, Eric Johnson, SRV.. But as I've learned in the last two years its not about speed and how many notes you can play, or what you can show people you can do. Its about embellishing the music to make it sound better with solo's, NOT, I'm gonna go wild and play every mode, arpeggio, run i know that will work with this key signature I'm in. I think every guitar player goes through this phase. For me now its about learning all different styles and not pigeon holing myself to just one. I suppose its not how fast you can play, its what you can write and come up.. JF has come up with loads great stuff, and inspired me to lay off the gain/ distortion and i realised i was missing so much great stuff and sounds.. I really respect him as a guitar player.
