"River in the Rain" was written by Roger Williams a year or two before he died. He wrote it as part of the score for the New York musical he wrote, called BIG RIVER which was a re-telling of Mark Twain's Huckleberry Finn. The role of Huck Finn was the firstthing Mark Hamill did after the original "Star Wars" films. The score for this show is greatly under-rated score and has about a half dozen songs which, like this one, can only be described as absolutely wonderful - if you have any sensibility at all, three of four of them will have you in tears. He wrote a hymn for this show (Waitin' for the Light to Shine) which was, at his request, played at his funeral. I think all the songs from the score are available on You Tube.
