Unfortunately, that's how it usually is when attending a festival. I attended this particular concert as well and also had trouble with the amount of chatting, but still, it was hard to not be amazed at the sheer amount of talent that these guys showed :-)

Shit... Anyways... The crowd needs to recognize what great artist they have in front of them.. I watched Jerry play the other day in Knoxville and my lips were sealed unless I cheered him on. The people talking are probably the ones who listen to dubstep and don't know what real talent is anymore

The Alison Krauss & Union station concert at the Roskilde festival 2012 was a big succes and I promised you that the band felt warmly welcome that afternoon ( I was for sure doing my best) - even if your right about the taking audience in the very big green festival tent where a normally very loud rock sound makes taking impossible. The concert was far to short - and when the band got the sound turned up to big audience level - there time was up. they should played at least 30min more

I've never attended an AKUS show where people weren't paying rapt attention to the performance. Outdoors at festivals it's expected, but indoors? Why go to a show if you're not gonna listen to the music?
