There is a similarity between Suicide and some of the Cars, especially some of the songs on the first two Cars albums. It's ironic that a commercial rock band like the Cars endorsed a minimalist electronic duo like Suicide. If I am not mistaken, I recall Suicide opened for the Cars on a US tour. Like Vega, Ocasek has always been on the edge, and is also a great record producer. He understands the sound, and most importantly, the attitude.
