Agnetha performs the third song from The Heat Is On Special in April 1983. This show was part of a European promotional tour for her first post Abba solo album, titled Wrap Your Arms Around Me. The album reached the higher regions of the chart across Europe, including No.1 in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Belgium and Denmark.

Agnetha clearly enjoys performing this nice relaxed song. She gives a very confident performance, and has a strong backing lineup.

Watch out for her late entrance at the beginning. When the band starts up without her, she has to quickly rush on stage, but joins in unflustered.

Also watch how she smiles enticingly to the camera from 1:35 - 2:00, giving her trademark wink and flashing her eyes. As ever, Agnetha gives a gracious acknowledgement to her backing group at the end.

Lyrics: Susan Lynch / Larry Whitman

Now I made up my mind, but it's never too late

You can turn the tide in any conversation,

You sway me when you say it that way,

Oh, I imagine whatever you say

They call you Mr. Persuasion,

'Cos you can talk me up and down,

And all you do is tell me that,

That's cos' you're Mr. Persuasion,

That's cos' you're Mr. Persuasion

Now when you're on a roll, you're a real romancer

You got all the questions and all the answers,

You sway me when you say it that way,

Oh, I imagine whatever you say

They call you Mr. Persuasion,

'Cos you can talk me up and down,

And all you do is tell me that,

That's cos' you're Mr. Persuasion,

That's cos' you're Mr. Persuasion

Now you could talk me into almost anything you want to

'Cos you're Mr. Persuasion,

You'd convince me day was night,

You're never wrong, you're always so right

Well I got a mind, but I put it on vacation

That's 'cos you're Mr. Persuasion,

Oh, how you sway me when you say it that way

Oh, I imagine whatever you say

They call you Mr. Persuasion,

'Cos you can talk me up and down,

And all you do is tell me that,

(That's 'cos you're Mr. Persuasion)

All you do is tell me that,

(That's 'cos you're Mr. Persuasion)

All you do is tell me that....

I so like this. Yes, it is light weight but it is beautiful. She has gone beyond the ABBA costumes and sounds to produce her own. Not perfect but she so recognises the contribution of the backing singers and musicians - not so obvious in the ABBA years. She is still the best.

Always thought this sounded like a 50's cover, but it's written for Agnetha, right? Pity it isn't live, and even faded out...

I love the bouncy, early-motown vibe of this song. The Swedes seem to be particularly fond of this sound, as evidenced by Roxette's "Soul Deep," Ace of Base's "Cecilia" and "Always Have, Always Will," and the great 90s dance hit "Dedicated to You."

I know it is light-weight, but what a great song - just for fun. And addictive! I've listened to it 16 times since yesterday, and learned to play it on guitar. Agnetha the singer survived the breakup of ABBA VERY nicely. "You can talk me UP and Down, and all you do is tell me that."

I love this song. The first time I heard this, I was a bit surprised at the 50's sound, but she made it work.
