This is open to debate, and opinion-based of course. I just think it's a bass part plain and simple, and the only reason people are making a big deal of it is because it stands out, since the guitar isn't following it. I mean, all of Hunter's bass lines are good; what makes this one so special? The Death of Seasons bass intro is much cooler by itself.
