"Adrian" from Jewel's Pieces of You album. I noticed the original version of this song wasn't on here.

Adrian came home again last summerThings just haven't been the same around herePeople talkPeople stareOh, Adrian, come out and playAn unfortunate accident in a canoeDr. said, 'I'm sorry not much I can do'The air was so stillHis eyes did not blinkOh, Adrian, come out and playLittle Mary Epperson liked himShe vowed always to watch after himStill he did not moveDr. said it's no useOh, Adrian, come out and playShe sat by his side, watched the years fly byHe looked so fragile, he looked so smallShe wondered why he was still alive at allEveryone in town had that 'I'm sorry look'They talked in a whispered hush, said'I'd turn the machines off'But still she sat by his sideSaid, 'Life he won't be deniedOh, Adrian, come out and playYellow flowers decorate his bedroomSign above his door says 'Welcome Home'But he just sits and staresHe's awake but he's still not thereOh, Adrian, come out and playShe sat by his side, watched the years fly byHe looked so fragile, he looked so smallShe wondered why he was still alive at allLittle Mary Epperson grew up lovelyShe still comes to visit him on SundaysHe's like an unused toyHe's got big hands but the mind of a little boyOh, Adrian, come out and playAdrian came home again last summerThings just haven't been the same around here

My oldest son is named Adrian. He moved away to California for work after college 1500 miles away. I miss him so much and our time when he was a young child. This song takes me back and tears me up. I love that little guy.

i know im probably gonna get a lot of negative comments from this, but i dont care what you say about me.when i was 5 my father was an alcoholic and left when i was 7,i would always lock myself in my room and cry all day asking why he left and why he didnt love me.my mother would always ask me whats wrong.all i could do was play this song and say "i feel like this boy".i now know that i never needed a father, because i already have a mother who loves as much as two parents and more. <3

I heard this song once five years ago or something. I tried to find it for so long after that; all I could remember was being eight years old and crying while my sister's radio was playing, and I finally found this song again. Adrian, come out and play

Why is that ridiculous? The song is meant to help people empathize with what it would be like to struggle with the choice of keeping someone alive with a machine. I don't get why brain damage from a canoeing accident would seem absurd to you, it is something that happens.
