A bit depressing but I love this song.

There's something indefinable about this song that never fails to bring me to my knees. It says so much with so few lyrics, and the instrumental fills are spellbinding. I always come back to it in amazement.

I bought Curt's album Halfway Pleased mostly out of curiousity, and a bit because of the lovely cover. Well, I was pleasantly surprised, -quite a bit more than halfway pleased:-)

Mayfield is gem of an album. You can listen to it on Curt's web site.

I also think that the time that he spent away from Roland did him some good because this piece is lovely and shows his fragility.

I never heard any of Curt's stuff from Mayfield. I've only ever heard the stuff from Half-Way pleased that's posted at his website.

this song is truly amasing, one of my favorites from the Halfway, Pleased album. very slow singing which works so well with the scenery and emotinal effect of the video. i think it would be better if Curt himself was in the actual video somwhere it would work well if(nothing is wrong with this one! no!)Curt was shown in clips where he was singing the song in a dark alley and then it went back to the room. i think the song and the video are just truly fantasic as a duo. absolutly brilliant. x

Best of Curt Smith's songs. I think it just has that extra amount of music and voice harmony that made it really good.

a real mood piece: somewhat haunting and therefore memorable. Aural art, I'd call it.
