This version is absolutely terrible. This choir, these drums... Far too overproduced. It's a shame. Ruining a wonderful song like this...

for all of you who seem to like this version better than the original try to remember that when the Beatles recorded this music you could not make sounds like this the equipment did not exist and it was absolutely impossible to go past what they were doing. they were at the Vanguard of music and they were ahead of everybody by many many many miles. as far as voices go yes Sturgis has a nice voice but John Lennon had the voice from God and he had hit after hit after hit because his voice was the best voice ever put to any kind of music but particularly rock and roll music he also wrote this song as well as Strawberry Fields and most of the more interesting Beatles songs. go listen to them then try to imagine what it would sound like if they recorded the now this is not hate but I really do resent that you have no comprehension of what really was accomplished. if John hadn't done these songs on the most mediocre equipment possible then you would never hear them. There is a reason they are being done over and over and over again because Lennon and the rest of the Beatles gave us the best songs ever written. to say that this is a better version just shows an incredible lack of vision as to why it sounds so good. these recordings are done on 128 tracks. The Beatles did it on 4 tracks... now going to the originals and think about what you're saying it's just really silly peace and love
