For all his lyrical talent, Aceyalone has sometimes been plagued by erratic production, and Accepted Eclectic -- despite a few cheap-sounding drum machines in spots -- takes steps to remedy that situation with a stronger, funkier set of beats. It also backs off the overambitious concept of A Book of Human Language, instead simply letting Aceyalone's winning personality shine through. He's his usual reflective self on the excellent "I Never Knew," about how you have to experience the bad to appreciate the good.

that's a pretty big overstatement saying a book of human language is overambitious. that's acey's best work aside from all balls don't bounce. acey has always dropped dimes on side projects and guest songs on albums. if the world wasn't ready for a book of human language then he accepted it and moved on. he produced the next albums with half a heart and let it be. the shit freestyle fellowship was rhyming about was beyond a lot of people's heads. fat jack is ahead of the game as well.10 years ago
