The album crossing is not the crossing which is here today. They moved it closer to the junction. You can clearly see this if you look at the fan photos.

@HeartBDoctor You're more then welcome to cross Abbey Road. It's a public crossing for pedestrians and it is all a historical site so they can't tell anybody "not to cross" Abbey Road

even to this day people line up to do the 'walk' across the crossing. at the abbey rd site, at most times of the day you will see people lining up and doing a pose on the crossing while their picture is being taken. (I've been there and done it too, and what a thrill it was) I'm not sure if we are allowed topaste web addresses here, but, here is the site for the abbey road crossing. I just tried and it wouldnt let me do it. boo hoo, it's not hard to find.
