From the album Dumpster Generation.
A Billion Ernies are a ska/hardcore/(genre) band from Hemet, California. Their lyrics are heavy with political content and religious ideas. I am not a christian or a wobbly myself, but I agree passionately with most of this band's lyrics. They're amazing live and this is one of my favorite albums of recent years. Do yourself a favor and download this album for free from www.communityrecords.org While you're there check out bands like Brunt of It, The Flaming Tsunamis, Stuck Lucky, and Fatter Than Albert. then do all of those bands a favor by going to their shows and promoting for them. It takes a village.
Here's the lyrics because the lyrics are very important to the band:
YOUVE FOUND THE LAST ROCK TO CRAWL UNDER. ESCAPE THE PAST, YOU THOUGHT THIS WAS OVER. WHEN YOU LEFT ME HERE WITH THESE BURDENS FOR ME AND MY LOVE, YOU NO LONGER WERE MY FRIEND. IVE TRIED AND TRIED. ITS TRUE WHAT THEY SAID, A TIGER MAY NEVER CHANGE ITS STRIPES. MY HANDS ARE TIED. YOU HAVE GOT TO HELP ME HELP YOU GET OVER YOURSELF. TAKE SOME PILLS, MOVE AROUND THE COUNTRY. YOUR HEART MAY NEVER FILL IF YOU MAKE YOUSELF LONELY, TO CREATE SOME PATHETIC BUKOWSKI STORY TO TELL THE PRETTY GIRLS. YOU REVEL IN THEIR PITY. IN THE END, I KNOW YOULL GET BETTER. I LEARNED MY LESSON, ILL ALWAYS REMEMBER NOT GOD NOR THIS WORLD WILL HAND ME ANY FAVORS, AND LIFE IS SUCH A DRAG IF WE DONT LOOK OUT FOR EACH OTHER.
