Someone left a cassette in my car in the mid 80's with 801 live written on it. I finally found it today. I didn't know back then it was Phil Manzanera from Roxy Music David Gilmours bestie.

There really isn't one note or drum beat missed in this whole performance, which is amazing. God this is and isn't a produced studio album. Which is why it is so beautifully produced and recorded. One of the best and copacetic collections of musicians ever.

Great stuff...Phil was really overlooked, and this was a really good period of time for him and Eno, etc., kind of a crossroad.Bill in Taipei, Taiwan...formerly in Philly - USA

More incredible guitar from a fantastic guitar player. It touches the soul.

I was shocked in listening to this beautiful piece in my youth. Many ProgRock listeners were seeking for next stage.

Yes, but to hear Diamond Head 35 years ago is certainly worth the difference. btw, do you know of any background on why the train coming out of the tunnel was used as the album cover?

Why all the sniveling and dribble? Each guitarist puts his own stamp on his art. Trying to compare one to another is futile. Page or Clapton? Hendrix or Harrison? Entwhistle to McCartney? As long as it's played from the Heart, it really doesn't matter. Beauty is in the ear of the beholder.
