Thanks Dave! Great lessons broken down very nicely with a nice resolution video. Thanks for taking your time to share. I have a Les Paul, Ovation, and a Taylor. I would love to add a nice Fender to the collection without breaking the bank unless it was really exceptional. Any recommendations?

I am enjoying your lessons.I like the way you are using horn players, I have all ways thought that If I want to learn to Improvise the best way would be to study horn players. They have to be the best at melody and harmony. Since that is all they do.In 1966 I was in the army ,I met a sax man & He turned me on to Jimmy Smith. Your use of B flat is far from coincidental . I have done some work with horns when I played in R&B groups, they always liked B Flat.

Great stuff , David, as usual. All you out there should go through ALL of his courses on Truefire. I'd also say its best to learn this licks by ear. I'm a huge sheet music or TAB guy, but it really develops an entire, important aspect of playing when you work out something by ear (besides, David walks you step by step through the lick). A reference the specific jam track on Truefire would be nice (they sound nice!)

@davidcopeable: it's actually just the stock pickup that came with the guitar - they made this version of the Mexican tele in the late nineties; mine is a '98 I think, and it came with the humbucker and a five-way switch so you could use it as either a humbucker or single-coil either with the bridge pickup or on it's own. It's a pretty cool setup :-)

Listen guys, if you can't use your ears to learn this, even if slowly, then you need to get some more skills under your belt before you tackle this stuff.
