People need a truly safe place with no judgement. They don't need to be told what they already know. When a person has been through this lifestyle they need to relearn how to live. Its a process. It can be an ugly part of their life. Its retraining everything you once did. Places, words, smells, people can all be triggers. Certain times of the day. I know for me after dinner I have a smoke. When I give up I get restless... How much more then with heavier drugs... Long lifetime habits. People need compassion not condemnation. Though at times they also need the hard truth spoken to them. Its really all about timing and judgement of when and how. Still showing grace and letting them know they are loved. But they may react strongly and walk away...
