Horrible and most of the covers on this cd were really good. This has got to be the worst cover I've ever heard.

This cover should be titled "Beat on the brat (Bono gay voice version)"

Hardly Ramone

One of the last things Johnny Ramone did was oversee the making of this album. He advised all the bands to make the songs their own rather than play them like Ramones songs, so that's what everyone did. Naturally, the cover by Greenday sounds the closest to the original, as their style is arguably already closer to the Ramones than anyone else's on the album. But interestingly, Johnny's favorite track was actually the Red Hot Chili Peppers' version of Havana Affair, which sounds nothing like the original stylistically. I personally really like a lot of the tracks, it's interesting to hear Ramones songs translated to other band's styles, as it shows how versatile their music really was. The problem is, if you already dislike a band's style or dislike it when a song you like gets messed with, you aren't going to enjoy the cover. But honestly, getting all these different artists to play the songs the way the Ramones played them would have been silly. That's what tribute bands are for.

Anyone saying lame ass comments just have no clue. Joey Ramone was a Huge Fan of U2, in turn Bono & U2 were Huge Fans of the Ramones?! Joey & Bono were great friends... Joey was a groupie & was following them around to their stadium gigs. Joey's family called Bono after he passed, they told him that at the time, a new U2 song was The Last Song He Heard before he passed away?! Ridiculous. Yeah, U2 did cover The Ramones when they were in their Teens, in fact got their 1st gig playing one of their songs. Boohoo, Ooooo I hate U2, poo poo, Bollocks! Bunch of Chumps! Go Troll somewhere under a bridge where ya belong.

U2 started by doing covers of The Ramones when they were kids. By their own admission the reason why they started writing their own stuff and the reason why their albums don't contain covers is because they weren't good at covers. There's a story they tell about when they appeared on TV for the first time in Ireland before they were signed. The producer came to visit them and they played a Ramones cover saying it was their own, he was impressed and when they played the show they switched it for one of their own.

I read through these comments while the video was loading and became somewhat hesitant of what was to come... I feared it might be horrendous judging by other's words... But I was nicely surprised. This isn't that bad at all! A slightly different sound to a good song we all know and love... The guitar was great!
