Jennette McCurdy's fourth track from her debut EP under Capitol Records Nashville, "Not That Far Away".
"I love the song. It's kind of old school R&B almost, which I love. I think the music behind it is very snazzy and cool" -- Jennette
Information:
"Put Your Arms Around Someone" was released on August 17, 2010.
The song is about how we need to show love and kindness to each other and even to people we don't know. That a simple hug can make him feel a lot better and change his day. A minute preview of the song was released earlier as part of a poll Jennette asked her fans. The fans were supposed to vote to which song they think should be the first single from her album. "Put Your Arms Around Someone" was last place out of the six songs. The song was released as a bonus track, next to "Generation Love", to anyone who bought Jennette's "Generation Love" CD that was available on her mall tour.

Personal Review:
In my opinion, every track on the EP has something special about it that separates it from the rest. "Break Your Heart" has Jennette's best vocal work, "Not That Far Away" is the most personal, "Stronger" is the most inspirational and powerful, "Me With You" is the catchiest, and "Put Your Arms Around Someone" has the best music. It is so rich and there are more instruments in it than the other songs. The instruments blend together perfectly. It showcases the album's great band the most. However, I didn't like the song at first. I thought it was pretty lame and not very special. That thought changed after some plays and I love it very much now. Still, I consider it a boring song but nice to listen to it. Lyrics wise, Jennette proves again that she isn't like the other teen artists that 'sing' love songs about boys/girls; she is much more than that. She writes and sings about the world and brings good messages for her listeners in her songs. Great lyrics, great message. Jennette sings excellent as always with a lot of grace. She ends the song perfectly with her singing 'mmm... Yeah'. The whole song makes me very happy. Good song from Jennette, I give it 4.3/5 Stars.
