This song makes me feel like Jeane Valjean after willingly receiving the silver chalices from the priest and feeling remorse for his actions after seeing the priest's unusual kindness (and his soon-to-follow redemption).If there was one tragic figure from The Miserables that never received any hope or redemption and was a slave to some preconceived notions that "nobody is innocent" that would be Inspector Javert. He pulled a Judas move, since his, vision that "somebody who was once a criminal, will always be a criminal" has been forever shattered to pieces. He was a Scrooge who couldn't change his faith.Lemme say this to you: If you found Javert about to jump to his death what would you do?Would you save him by showing that the city still needs him and that nobody is beyond redemption? Or would you let him fall as the author wanted?
