MARAVILLOSA MÚSICAZadok the Priest (1º Himno Coronation Anthems), de George Frideric Händel. Zadok, the priest2. My heart is inditing3. The king shall rejoice4.

In regards to my comment seven months ago, I take back the part about the fleur-de-lis. I have since taken a course on the French Revolution and I have come to realise it was not simply an anti-monarchy revolt but rather a revolt against an oppressive aristocracy, a corrupt church, and a government that was indifferent to the suffering of its people. Just saying.

Soprano part in bars 84-86 is a bit too much, as well as not being very well pitched - comes off a bit Beejeeesque...

In the 1770s, I would have worn my red coat with pride, and stuck my flintlock pistol in the face of any Continental. In the 1790s, I would have stood underneath the golden fleur-de-lis, and would have proudly walked to the guillotine. My ushanka would not bear a red star, but a two-headed eagle, and I would have defiantly given my life to protect the Romanov family. Rest in peace, souls of the monarchs. Your descendants still reign. PS - Handel is genius.

Christopher Kay - its in Db because the A we use now would have been an Ab in baroque times, so if we are being authentic then we should sing everything down a semitone, which is what is happening here. I remember singing this as a treble and it did make the top Gs a bit more bearable when they became F#s

After 50 years performing I would say less than 5% of musicians I have known have true perfect pitch. It doesn't really matter what key a piece is played in, even Db - what matters is the relative pitch (ie in tune or otherwise). It is still wonderous music. bravo Handel

It's really annoying for people with perfect pitch if the music is in D but you hear Db... grrrrr :(

Thanks for the music score. This was loads of fun singing along with each part. Also, this is the cleanest and clearest I have yet to hear this piece sung. Very enjoyable. BRIAN
