Fans resent that Cheap Trick has not been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I think I understand the resentment: They had integrity head and shoulder above their peers and it comes through in their music. In somewhat more modern parlance, they were "real". I also understand why R&R HOF is not interested: Rick Neilsen's visual novelty. It was very helpful in branding the band in the 70s but made it easy for the uninitiated to mistake them for a novelty act.
