Lyrics:

It's unclear now, what we intend

We're alone in our own world

You don't wanna be my boyfriend

And I don't wanna be your girl

And that, that's a relief

We'll drink up our grief

And pine for summer

And we'll buy beer to shotgun

And we'll lay in the lawn

And we'll be good

Now I'm laughing at my boredom

At my string of failed attempts

Because you think that it's important

And I welcome the sentiment

And we talk on the phone at night

Until it's daylight

And I feel clever

And I hear the slow in your speech

Yeah you're half asleep

Say goodnight

Now I've got friendships to mend

I'm selfishly dispossessed

You don't wanna be my boyfriend

And that's probably for the best

Because that, that gets messy

And you will hurt me

Or I'll disappear

So we will drink beer all day

And our guards will give way

And we'll be good

The amount of people claiming the Walking Dead cover of this is the best version is ridiculous. This song isn't meant to be some mainstream watered down song, it's real and pure and authentic, and not overly polished.

Everyone says kinney's cover of this song is better but I think both versions are great in their way. waxahatchee is awesome and I miss Beth's singing :(

Lol I thought all the time that this song is originally from Emily Kinney. But okay, I would have NEVER liked this song If Emily hadn't sing this song, so I'm happy about her cover :')This version is totally not my taste :c

I heard Emily Kinney's version on The Walking Dead first, and liked it. I then heard Waxahatchee's version, and liked it even more.Emily Kinney's version is very mainstream. But you need to have eclectic music taste in order to appreciate a music genre like Waxahatchee. It's like a painting, not everyone gets it. I'm glad many people like the Emily Kinney version though. Makes my liking of Waxahatchee more personal =)

Sorry, this is a really enjoyable song, but Emily Kinney (or Beth Greene) did it better. Maybe if I wasn't one of Emily Kinney's number one fans I would have liked this but yeah...

everyone who comments on this saying the version from the walking dead is better shouldn't be allowed to listen to music or watch tv or experience emotions ever again

This is definitely better than the show version, I came here from the show but still, this version is just brilliant.
