I've always liked Jackson Browne and his music. He goes really deep into his soul.

If this is a live recording........and both Jackson Browe and Warren Zevon are related to it...... not bad at all. I love em both and have numerous albums (CD's) from both of these wonderful guys.

Had never heard this version before....and wow, holy crap youtube, this just blew my mind....thank you thank you thank you...going to put this version on 100000x mix tapes (yes I make them still) and jam them when I drive my broken down truck to my broken down job and jam my broken down guitar in this horrible, wonderful, beautiful world.

@evilthesaurus You can't possibly link the two together. She was an utterly bankrupt and evil human being. She got her teenage son hooked on smack, which he never able to kick til he ODed/suicided. Please, JB is a noble soul.

@MyMoppet52 Thank you for the request. Tom Rush is being analysed closely :)

I saw Tom Rush in 1970. There must have been at least 100 of us. I was mesmerized when he sang this lovely song. I will always remember this and The Child's Song. I love this version also. The first time I heard Jackson Browne sing his own song...Thank you.

@Minmeg1most of the 70's was the rise of singer/songwriters when all the major rock bands had split up, letting musicians such as Crosby Stills & Nash, Nico, Gregg Allman, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Lowell George, Warren Zevon, Nico, James Taylor, Linda Ronstadt, Bonnie Raitt, and other singer/songwriters play this sad, deep, meaningful kind of music. Jackson Browne of course, in my opinion expresses the sad, deep feeling and was wise beyond his years as Browne wrote this when he was only 16

This song makes my heart ache --- 'Don't confront me with my failures, I had not forgotten them'
