I saw Warren Zevon in 1988 at a college auditorium that sat about 1200, and had perfect acoustics. It was the Sentimental Hygiene tour, he had a full band and was about a year sober. He previewed Splendid Isolation for one of the encores. He spent about 45 mins by the bus after the show, talking to fans and signing autographs. He was witty, gracious, contemplative. It was by far the best show I've ever seen.
