Of course she never said it in the early years of her career because Mottola didn't want her to. He told her how to walk, talk, and what to wear, which is why she says she felt like she was in prison.

Yes, I know all this but I was talking about during the early years of her career (1990-1994); Mariah never actually said she enjoyed hip hop music.

Mariah has stated several times that she grew up listening to hip-hop as well as those artist you named. It was Tommy Mottola that told her it wasn't good for her career, which is why the ODB version of "Fantasy" is not on her 1995 Daydream album. After she split with Mottola she included the ODB version of "Fantasy" on her #1s album in instead of the original version. She is often credited with popularizing the mix of hip-hop/rap and pop music.

The audio itself was lowered about a half step. She is not off-key.

Actually Mariah said in 1990 that she grew up listening to Gospel and R&B and artists like Aretha Franklin, Patti Labelle, Stevie Wonder, Barbra Streisand and Minnie Riperton. As far as I'm aware none of these artists do Hip hop. I guess that was before Mariah went Hip Hop crazy.

She grew up with the type of music. Its her labels that wouldn't allow to feature etc. on these type of songs "because they feared it would break her career" thats why ever since her split with Tommy she came out with genre just listen to Honey.....and she started producing club mixes something she wasn't permitted to do between 1990 and part of 1996.

Yep she is definitely off key and I can hear it to much because I produce and I can hear when something is out of key where at a consumer might take it and say it's good or not. But she is definitely out of key and they could of fixed it. I hope they are not expecting to make money of the remix. Could of just added the rappers and left the singing out or fix the singing.

Yep Mariah always wanted to do Urban type music, Tommy Matolla wanted her to be on some Pop madness that's why she broke away from him, she wanted to have fun and do what she was comfy with and Tommy wanted to control her career, she she's always been down with urban/HipHop music.
