how sad that such an extraordinary song is finished with the statement that it is the only song he ever wrote and his mother hated it. it may be the reference to the "mother being a golden girl, i slit her throat to get her pearls"...whatever, it's a pity...hurtful to a brilliant musician/artist who clearly had a depth of heart.
